ATLANTA, GA - In Fiscal Year 2023, Amtrak served multiple locations across Georgia, operating eight trains per day as part of its long-distance routes.

According to Amtrak, these routes included the Crescent, which connects New York to New Orleans via Atlanta; the Palmetto, running from New York to Savannah; and the Silver Meteor and Silver Star, which both connect New York to Miami, with stops in Savannah.

According to Amtrak, Amtrak stations in Georgia saw varying levels of ridership throughout the year. Atlanta's station was the busiest, with 68,319 passengers, followed by Savannah with 56,709 passengers.

Jesup and Gainesville also had notable ridership, with 7,265 and 4,509 passengers, respectively.

However, Toccoa was the least used station in Georgia, with just 1,793 passengers throughout the year. Despite this, the station remains an important link for those in the region who rely on Amtrak for long-distance travel, according to Amtrak.

Amtrak continues to maintain detailed profiles of each station on its Great American Stations website, providing historical context and operational information for travelers and community members alike.
