    SANTA CLARA, CA - California saw a significant number of train travelers in Fiscal Year 2023, with Amtrak serving 8,187,978 passengers across the state.

    According to Amtrak, operating 64 trains daily, Amtrak’s extensive network included both long-distance routes, such as the California Zephyr and the Coast Starlight, and state-supported services like the Capitol Corridor and Pacific Surfliner.

    According to Amtrak, the most frequently used station was Los Angeles (LAX), which welcomed over 1 million passengers, reflecting its status as a major transportation hub. Other highly trafficked stations included Sacramento with 740,697 passengers and Bakersfield with 658,266 passengers.

    On the other end of the spectrum, the least used station in California was Col. Allensworth Park (CNL), which saw just 776 passengers. Other low-usage stations included Pomona (POS) with 1,315 passengers and Palm Springs (PSN) with 1,687 passengers, according to Amtrak.
