$50,000 Winning Lottery Ticket Sold in Carroll

CARROLL, OH - According to a press release issued by the Ohio Lottery on Friday, August 30, 2024, a lucky Ohio Lottery player struck it big with a $50,000 win on the Ohio Lottery’s Money Maker scratch-off ticket. The winner, who was in Carroll for a job, made the stop at Speedway #9226 on Winchester Road to refuel his car.

According tot the press release, while at the gas station, he decided to purchase a Money Maker ticket, a $30 scratch-off game with a top prize of $80,000 a year for 25 years.

As he scratched off the ticket, he was astonished by the number of winning numbers revealed. "When I see the ticket, I just think ‘it’s so many numbers,’” the winner said.

After mandatory federal and state taxes, he will take home approximately $36,000. The winner has plans to invest his windfall.

As of August 30, there are still five top prizes remaining in the Money Maker game. Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed over $32 billion to education.
