FAYETTEVILLE, AR - Arkansas residents who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will notice an early payment for January 2025, which will be distributed in December 2024, according to the Social Security Administration.

This adjustment in the payment schedule occurs because SSI payments are typically issued on the first of each month.

However, when the first falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the payment is made on the last business day of the previous month.

According to the Social Security Administration, for January 2025, the first falls on a Wednesday, which is not a holiday, but December 2024 has its own unique scheduling adjustments affecting the distribution.

According to the Social Security Administration, due to the timing of these dates and federal holidays around the end of the year, SSI recipients will receive their January benefits on December 31, 2024, ensuring they have access to their funds without delay.
