Power Bill Assistance Available for Ohio Residents

CLEVELAND, OH - Ohioans struggling with home energy bills can seek support through the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), a federally funded initiative designed to help low-income households manage their energy costs.

According to the Ohio Department of Development, the program provides a one-time benefit that is applied directly to utility or bulk fuel bills, offering crucial financial relief during the heating and cooling seasons.

Eligibility for HEAP is based on household size and income. For example, households with one member must have an annual income at or below $26,355, while a family of four can qualify with an income up to $54,600, according to the Ohio Department of Development.

The income limits increase with household size, with special provisions for households with eight or more members.

Both homeowners and renters can apply for assistance. Applications require reporting gross household income for the past 30 days (or 12 months) for all household members, excluding minors under 18, according to the Ohio Department of Development.

The program runs from July 2024 to May 2025, and Ohioans can apply by completing an application form.

HEAP offers vital help to ensure that no family is left without energy during the critical months of the year.

Why should they??? Electricity should be free for all along with water and etc ppl didn't choose to have basic necessities to be powered by electrics nor is it the ppls fault to water part of their daily lives. Having ppl pay for basic life needs is nothing but a money scheme to keep to money flowing to the top kind of like the big pharma business. There are cures for cancer the reason the cures are not being displayed is because there is more money in not having a cure
