High Water Reported on Pleasure Island

WILMINGTON, NC - Flooding is causing issues throughout the communties on Pleasure Island in North Carolina.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, heavy rain showers have resulted in roads being flooded with three feet of water.

Everyone is encouraged to stay off of the roadways.

No cars or trucks are designed to drive through water this deep, according to the National Weather Service.

Travel in the area is being limited due to the high water issues.

Currently, flooding is making it extremeley difficult to travel to or from Southport, Carolina Beach, and Boiling Springs Lakes.

A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for Pleasure Island and nearby communites until 8:45 EDT Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.
