Port Strike Did Not Cause Toilet Paper Shortage

West Virginia residents visiting their local Walmart, Dollar General, or other local stores may have noticed a shortage of toilet paper this week.

According to the Associated Press, the reports of toilet paper outages across the United States were not due to the three-day Port Strike on the East Coast and in the Gulf as many consumers believed.

CNN reports that the toilet paper shortages that are being seen across the United States are from panic buying.

The strike has since ended and the ports have resumed operations.

CNN also reports that the strike would not cause shortages even it was prolonged as most toilet paper sold in the United States is produced within the country.

Are you seeing toilet paper shortages where you are? Let us know!
