Camaya is located in East Bali which is home to lush rice fields and some of the dreamiest volcano views. This is something that many people skip in their itineraries, but it’s one of the island’s highlights.

ABOUT CAMAYA

Camaya is a spacious bamboo house which can easily accommodate up to 4 people. Even though it’s open and you cannot really lock all doors even during the night, the surrounding area is so peaceful and relaxing that you do not need to be scared or worried about your belongings.

The entire place is surrounded by rice fields and palm tree forests, and the volcano shows up on the horizon just after the sun rises. When the sky is completely clear, you have the impression that the volcano is located just by.

Camaya Magical Bamboo House is perfect for groups of friends, families, or even solo travellers who can spare some extra dollars on the accommodation.

You can easily reach Camaya by car and scooter- it is well-advertised so there are no issues with locating the property from the road.

Camaya Bamboo House, as the name indicates, is built from bamboo materials which is typical for Balinese architecture. The property perfectly blends in with the landscape and it’s unique design stands out in the accommodation search.

I’m going to take you on a house tour and show the best of Camaya. Let’s start with the kitchen area.

Kitchenette is located downstairs and is fully equipped which is really convenient. If you don’t feel like cooking, you can order a meal from the menu and the team will bring it over to the house. Their warming pumpkin soup is one of the best dishes you can order! The food prices in Camaya are very affordable too and can be compared to warungs’. Although breakfast is not included in the booking price, you can still order it with the Team.

Right by the kitchen there is a lounge area overlooking the rice terraces. There are also some board games and books to keep you entertained. The owners created a cute corner setup which is perfect for relaxing and snapping Instagram shots!

The decor in Camaya is truly unique and perfectly reflects Balinese traditional style. The details and furniture are sourced locally as well which makes a perfect match with the property’s design.

POOL AREA

Camaya has a plunge pool which is located right outside and overlooks the rice paddies. It’s rather small and shallow, but it’s a stunning spot to cool down and relax. At your request, the staff can organise a flower bath which is one of the most common spa rituals in Bali.

Obviously, Camaya also has an outdoor shower which is a perfect match to the overall vibe. It’s bordered with the

bamboo curtain which maintains the highest privacy, even when the property remains open to the surrounding nature.

EVENINGS IN CAMAYA

Even though the temperature drops, evenings in Camaya are very dreamy too! The cable lights, the hammock, lounge area- all make Camaya a perfect chill spot. What is more, falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the jungle really is a highlight of staying here.

THE NET BED

Without a doubt, Camaya is famous for this very spot. It quickly started attracting people from all around the world and became one of the most popular Airbnb’s.

When the sky is clear you can also see a wonderful panorama of Mount Agung while chilling here. Unfortunately, it was raining throughout our stay here and we could only see the volcano early in the morning when it was still dark outside.

Waking up to the sound of the jungle is just divine. Imagine having a coffee to this view!

Bedrooms in Camaya are very cosy and stylish too. The spacious floating bed and bamboo decoration makes the bedrooms a perfect chill spot when it rains outside.

THINGS TO DO AROUND:

This area of Bali is relatively quiet which is a nice change to busy Ubud. You can rent a scooter and drive around visiting the best nature spots such as Bukit Cinta. The best time to visit the Mount Agung viewpoint is just after the sunrise. Famous tourist spots in this area are: Puma Lempuyang, Tirta Gangga Water Palace and Blue Lagoon Beach. It's also worth signing up for a sunrise volcano tour or visiting the hidden canyon.

BOOKING PROCESS:

You can only book through their Airbnb profile and their website. Although there are many bamboo houses in Bali, Camaya gets booked quickly so hurry up if you’re fancy reserving a night. The prices for the night depend on the season, but usually start at $250/night.

THE USE OF DRONES:

If you’re staying within the property, you are fine to fly your drone as the area is relatively empty and there are no other houses close by. However- if you’re just stopping by Camaya to record the property or surroundings, remember to respect people’s privacy and simply avoid flying directly above the house.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and it was an amazing treat after a 20-hours long journey. The food was delicious, the team incredibly friendly and the surroundings simply spectacular.

Considering Camaya is an open jungle house, the Team is doing a great job keeping it clean and insect-free. They really deserve a good shoutout.

Although there are many unique looking properties in Bali, Camaya is definitely worth its price considering the property size and service. You are getting 5-star service and above all- 5-star views.
