5 Things to Consider Before Booking Travel

Traveling is exciting! Sometimes it can be so exciting that the planning is rushed and the trip goes horribly wrong. Follow these 5 tips below to avoid common mistakes while planning a trip.

Before You Book Anything:

1. Figure out which country/city(s) you’d like to visit. This is an obvious one, but I need to mention it. Try choosing somewhere new to stimulate your mind and grow as a person.
2. Decide what you’d like to do on your journey: Do you want to relax and sit on a beach? Do you want to receive first class spa treatment? Do you want to sight-see? Do you want to meet locals and experience their true culture? Do you want to hike and spend all of your time outdoors? Do you want to eat at the best restaurants? Do you want to see the sunset at a particular location? Do you want to attend a sporting event? Hint: I make sure I say yes to as many of the above questions as possible on every trip!
3. Map out your trip and choose airports wisely. Many cities have more than one major airport. If you’re like me and are more likely to pay for convenience, then consider choosing the closest airport to your first, or last hotel (if staying in more than one). If convenience is not a factor, then simply choose the airport which will feature the lowest airfare (it’s not always the larger airport).
4. Choose your accommodations wisely based on what you’d like to do. If you want to sit on a beach, choose a hotel close to the beach, and so on.
5. Will you rent a car or uber/taxi? Consider this after you’ve decided where you will stay. If you will stay in an area within walking distance to just about everything you want to do, then you should use ubers or taxis. If you’ll be driving a bit, then you should rent a car. Important: be sure to consider the cost to park at your hotel as it can be as much as $60 per night!
6. Bonus, but an obvious one. Check Covid-19 stats, restrictions, and entry requirements.
