Valentine’s Day is this weekend, and if you are still trying to figure out something to do with your sweetie, I have a bunch of cozy ideas for you. You don’t have to buy the perfect gift to make a meaningful connection with another person. Be yourself while you are with them. Being genuine will come across as being real and honest, which means a lot. And while you are spending time with them, listen like you mean it. Don’t just fake the motion, actually listen to what they are talking about and respond. Here are some great date ideas in Detroit for you to practice these tips to make this a memorable Valentine’s Day!

Go to a Drive-In Movie at Ford Dearborn Drive-In

This is an ideal date as you can spend hours together watching a double feature. Pick movies that you think that your date will like. Bring snacks for you to share; my preference is popcorn. While you are watching the movie, hold hands. Touch is an essential part of the connection process. And bring a blanket, as it is Michigan and it is cold outside. The good thing is that the Ford Dearborn Drive-In offers car heaters for you to place on the floor of your vehicle to keep you warm. And don’t forget to chat about the movie afterward. Go Ice Skating at Campus Martius Park

Ice skating at Campus Martius Park is a great Valentine’s Day date as you can hold hands while skating around the rink. Or help the other stand up if they don’t skate well. This is a great bonding activity, as it shows how you both can work together and have fun laughing with each other. Remember to make sure your date is dressed warmly for the activity; you don’t want frozen toes after an hour. Or do you? You can offer a foot rub after your skating date is over. Go Bowling at Round One

Another fun date idea for Valentine’s Day in Detroit is to go bowling at Round One in Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills. Bowl a few games together, and you will see how you guys interact with competing against one another. This is a beautiful way to spend time chatting about all sorts of things while waiting for your turn to bowl. After bowling, you can play some arcade games or play a game of pool. How well do you do, losing against the other or winning? Round One is open until 11 pm, so that gives you plenty of time to enjoy some games and each other’s company!

Play a Game of Fowling in Hamtramck

Another fun Valentine’s Day date idea in Detroit is for you and your date to play a game of Fowling. Fowling is a cross between football and bowling. You have to throw a football down the lane to knock down the bowling pins. This is a great date activity because if you don’t know how to throw a football, you can have your date show you how. Expect lots of laughter and camaraderie while playing fowling, which makes this a perfect date for you to have fun on Valentine’s day. You will need to reserve lanes online.
