Myrtle Beach Woman: Unlawful Conduct Toward a Child

Mykenzie Jade Gunter, 21 of Whisker Pole Rd in Myrtle Beach was quite a handful for law enforcement.

According to their report, police responded to Whisker Pole in the Forrestbrook neighborhood in reference to a possible domestic disturbance.

Police first made contact with the caller who stated Gunter was "intoxicated and causing a scene". He had just recently woken up and when he went to look for Gunter she had left the child sleeping in the bedroom and had walked down the street with a bottle of vodka.

The report states, when she returned to the residence he took the bottle and smashed it after she had drinks 3⁄4 of a liter bottle, and that's when she became upset and start yelling and screaming.

Police reported Gunter was noticeably intoxicated and not cooperative with law enforcement questions.

Then, an unexpected twist: Ms. Gunter requested EMS claiming a sexual assault but when EMS responded she declined to speak to them.

Gunter, reportedly, then locked herself in the bedroom with the child and refused to speak to law enforcement without a lawyer.

Gunter then proceeded to call 911 while police were on the scene to report the law enforcement officer.

Once Gunter was finally detained, she became belligerent and began yelling and screaming at police.

The bizarre outburst and conduct demonstrated her inability to care for or provide for the child and she was placed under arrest.

After about 12 hours in the slammer, Gunter posted $2,500 bail and was released pending trial.
