With multiple locations in and around the Sacramento area, the offerings at Mikuni are perfect for sharing with your crowd. As a starter, I like to order their boldly seasoned freaky Brussels to share. Sometimes I would get the Flaming Shrooms just because they're pretty spicy which prepares my stomach for the main courses. For their sushi offerings, I recommend their Iron Chef Combo. It features tuna and salmon nigiri along with their Iron Chef roll. The roll is filled with crispy panko shrimp, onion, and white tuna. One of my favorite rolls is the Pimp My Roll, which is full of spicy tuna and panko shrimp. This place is great to throw a party and order up a few of their amazing party platters to share.

With three locations around the city, Arigato Sushi is another local favorite that deserves a visit. They have many popular offerings to start with including deep fried gyoza and albacore tempura. For a main dish, I suggest you give their sashimi deluxe a try. It features 20 pieces of their fresh sashimi alongside a soup and salad. Sometimes, I get the sashimi deluxe all to myself and it's heaven. For the roll lovers, I recommend their chicken teri roll with avocado and unagi sauce. If you happen to visit on a warm day, then be sure to save room for a helping of their mochi ice cream. Honestly, even if it's in the winter, give their mochi ice cream a try because it is delicious!

Located just south of El Camino Avenue, Azukar Sushi certainly requires its visitors to bring their appetites. Not many people think of sushi buffets as the type of place to feature quality sushi offerings, but they have done an incredible job of changing that perception. Start off with a simple bowl of their miso soup. For a main dish, you will have no end of sushi rolls to choose from. For a kick of spice, I prefer their Arizona roll with spicy tuna and spicy jalapeño. They feature a variety of sashimi and hand roll options as well. For those of you with a sweet tooth, make sure to give their deep-fried banana or sesame balls a try.

What I recommend: Arizona roll is my go to

Location: 1516 W El Camino Ave Sacramento, CA 95833

Sushi lovers in Northern California have a lot of options when it comes to satisfying their roll, nigiri, and sashimi cravings. With all of these fresh and tasty options to choose from, you are sure to find offerings that will satisfy even the fussiest of sushi fans. The next time you find yourself in the Sacramento area, be sure to try one of the above spots, and you will definitely leave with a full belly and a wide smile.
