Covid keeps the entire United States occupied and frightens a lot of individuals. People are scared not just by a worldwide epidemic, but also by the amount of crimes that occur in their area.
It's also not an untold secret that many US states are safer than others. But what about Arizona? I really wanted to find out how safe Arizona is and so, therefore, I dug in deep into the latest FBI crime report.
The data below was gathered by the FBI through the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program. Their data includes 12-month crime counts for major cities in MSAs, as well as crime statistics for Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) and their estimated populations, counties included in each MSA, and crime statistics for MSAs.
For my research I solely focus on the MASs, the total population, and the following crime rates:
Total Number of Violent Crimes, consisting of Aggravated assault, Robbery, Rape, Murder, and nonnegligent manslaughter.
Total Number of Property Crimes, consisting of Burglary, Larceny-theft, Motor vehicle theft.
You will find all those rates as per 100,000 inhabitants so that they are easy to compare. You will also see that sometimes specific property crime rates are missing. If this is the case, they haven't been reported in the original statistic.
