Hot Music, Cold Drinks at two Tri-State Area Festivals in June
2021-06-08
Live music and a cold drink with friends were just a few of the summertime traditions we missed in 2020. Mix in some great local food and vendors—and you’ll find yourself catching up on good vibes at the Washington County Ag Center. Here are two festivals back with a bang this summer.
Interstate Wine & Music Festival
Saturday, June 12th, 12pm-6pm and Sunday, June 13th, 12pm-5pm
Grab your lawn chairs, sunscreen, and ten closest friends…the Interstate Wine & Music Festival is back! This year’s entertainment is cranking up the wayback machine with some 80s favorites, including Frederick magazine-named “best cover band” The Reagan Years.
Created in 2014 to highlight the area’s growing selection of wineries, the event now includes nearly a dozen wineries plus local distilleries, breweries and over 100 vendors featuring artisans, boutique clothing and more.
Be sure to arrive hungry because whatever you crave, there will be something to tempt your tastebuds. The eclectic list of food includes vendors offering hand-held favorites like tacos, barbecue and Jamaican jerk chicken, and wine-complementing specialties like charcuterie and crabcakes. More vendors are listed on their Facebook page.
Saturday's entertainment includes bands The Missing Years, The Cramer Brothers with Tim Haines, and Shake the Room. Sunday's lineup includes local favorite DJ Sidekick: Everything But the 80’s and The Reagan Years.

The reimagined Quad State Beer Fest has a new, Reggae sound. Established in 2014 and known for hosting a huge lineup of regional breweries, this year’s event is taking on a Caribbean vibe, all under cover at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center in Boonsboro, Md.
Bring a folding chair and sample up to 80 area beers, ciders, spirits and wine from more than 20 breweries, distilleries and wineries. Enjoy local Caribbean cuisine from Big Fat Daddy’s, Reid's Jerk Shack, Sherri’s Crab Cakes, and C & G Jerk Chicken.
Authentic East Coast reggae group Jah Works headlines the festival at 8pm, which also features performances by Cheezy and the Crackers at 6pm and Secondhand at 4pm.
