Thrift Adventures In Fort Smith For Summertime.
2021-06-19
Fort Smith has a bustling community of thrift shops, all of which offer something very unique. Thrifting can be a fun experience where you can find some cool stuff.
I enjoy the hunt of finding old tech gear and clothes that I might not have otherwise seen somewhere else. Books are also a great find at most thrift stores, especially hard to find titles.
With Spring right around the corner, there is going to be a lot of cleaning and organization going on. That means good news for you if you are into finding certain treasures.
Second-hand goods preserve the environment, and there are still a lot of great items that have plenty of life in them. I’m not saying that you should go dig through a dumpster, but check out these stores.
Fort Smith Retro Market
3101 Towson Ave, Fort Smith, AR 72901 — (479) 573–6825
With a ton of positive reviews on Google and Facebook, you know that the Fort Smith Retro Market has to be doing something right.
From virtual auctions to chalk painting classes, this is not just a rudimentary retail location.
Going into the Fort Smith Retro Market is an experience, and one that treasures hunters and families can enjoy together.
The ambiance of the store is warm and welcoming.
The sheer selection of items that are in the store is jaw-dropping. Unlike a big box place like Savers or Goodwill, the Fort Smith Retro Market does a great job of cleaning the items and enhancing the presentation.
Prices are more than reasonable for the great stuff that you’ll find. While a lot of thrift shops are overpriced the Fort Smith Retro Market keeps it affordable.
Wasted
1520 Towson Ave, Fort Smith, AR 72901 — (479) 322–8787
What you get with Wasted is a thrift store like no other.
Everything in this store is tastefully chosen, in such a way that it feels like a Pier 1 Imports, without the harsh price tag.
With a central location on Towson Avenue, there is something for everyone where.
From tool chests to furniture, wicker baskets, rustic home furnishings, and paintings. There is just about something for every taste here.
The store is well laid out, nice and bright with plenty of shelf space.
You’d never think of this at a thrift store, but Wasted isn’t an ordinary thrift store. If you love the challenge of finding a treasure, this is your place.
The prices are very affordable and the staff is welcoming and friendly. The store is open although some Covid guidelines need to be followed as with any retail location now.
Designer Again
16 N 3rd St Fort Smith, AR 72901 — (479) 782–8313
Another example of a well-laid-out thrift store is Designer Again located at 16 N 3rd St.
The place is a treasure trove of designer clothing and interesting knick-knacks that appeal to just about every taste.
Generally, when a thrift store sells designer clothing they will mark the price up. (We’re looking at you Goodwill).
But, that isn’t the case with Designer Again.
Just recently I saw a pair of Lulumelon men’s shorts for only $24.99.
I don’t need to tell you how expensive these generally retail for. That’s only a small portion of what you’ll find here. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, which helps out if you are looking for a specific item.
Likewise, you aren’t going to be inundated with junk upon junk. The store is carefully curated and you’ll see clean almost new items galore. Did I mention the great prices on bracelets and such?
Be sure to visit Designer Again in Fort Smith!
