"Law & Order" Actor Indicted in New York for Murder

In New York, a television actor named Isaiah Stokes was indicted for murder. Specifically, he had been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a New York.

Isaiah is a 41-year-old actor who has appeared on shows like Law & Order, Power, and Boardwalk Empire. According to his IMDB page, he was also an aspiring rapper under the name of I$AIAH.

Shooting a Man in Broad Daylight

Isaiah was accused of shooting a man in broad daylight in New York City. Specifically, this had happened in Jamaica, Queens (where Isaiah also resides). The victim had been reportedly sitting in his Jeep when he was assaulted.

The victim's name is Tyrone Jones. He was 37 years old and was shot almost a dozen times back on February 7, 2021. Tyron was from Queens Village.

Indictment From The Grand Jury

The grand jury on Friday indicted him for a three-count indictment charging him with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Surveillance Video

According to the authorities, there was a surveillance video of the incident that shows Isaiah getting out of a vehicle. This vehicle was near the intersection of Linden Boulevard and 200th Street. He then approached the driver's side window of the Jeep. This was a parked white Jeep Grand Cherokee, where reportedly 11 shots were fired.

Tyrone was pronounced dead by the EMS workers. It is unclear what the motive for the shooting was.

Current Situation

If convicted, Isaiah will face 25 years to life in prison. He will have to return to court on Monday.

As Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz reported in her statement:

"Gun violence is all too prevalent in our neighborhoods. We will not allow it to become the norm.”

As for the citizens of New York City, including those in Jamaica, Queens, we can only hope that things eventually get better. For now, keep vigilant and keep yourselves busy, especially as the days go by.
