    2021-07-26

Hey, y'all! There are few things more innately Kentucky - if any, really - than the equine industry. While there are many stops in Central Kentucky to experience Kentucky's horse culture, along with Churchill Downs in nearby Louisville, there's no better place to start your equestrian journey than the Kentucky Horse Park!

Experience Authentic Kentucky Culture at the Kentucky Horse Park

The Kentucky Horse Park is one of the Commonwealth of Kentucky's treasures. Owned and operated by the state, the Kentucky Horse Park exists to celebrate our relationship to horses through education, exhibition, engagement and competition. Open since 1978, the Kentucky Horse Park welcomes over 500,000 visitors from around the world per year.

    What To Expect

During the Main Season, guests enjoy live equine presentations: the Hall of Champions Show, Parade of Breeds, and the Big Barn Stall-Side Chat.

The International Museum of the Horse's 60,000 square feet of permanent exhibitions are dedicated to showcasing the unique relationship between humans and horses.

Horseback trail rides - and pony rides for the kids - can be scheduled in the Visitor Center on the day of your visit. Trail rides are $25/person and pony rides are $5/child.

You can also stay on site! The Kentucky Horse Park attracts over 40,000 campers/year; the campsite is equipped to house 260 and boasts full amenities: a swimming pool, tennis court, playgrounds, and bike trails.

While in Lexington, be sure to enjoy all that the Horse Capital of the World boasts: it's a first-rate southern town!
