Don't (Or Do!) Go Chasing Waterfalls in Kentucky: Visit Cumberland Falls State Resort Park

About Cumberland Falls State Resort Park

While Kentucky has many scenic waterfalls, Cumberland Falls is the grandest of them all. The Falls measure approximately 68 ft. tall and 125 ft. wide. The size accounts for its moniker, "the Niagara of the South". Visitors and locals alike marvel at the 3,600 cubic ft. of water that spills over the sandstone edge, producing a roaring sound and a sight to behold.

Cumberland Falls is most known for the moonbow -- the only one in the United States and one of only two naturally occurring moonbows in the world. To try to see the moonbow, visit during a full moon. While rare, it's an incredible experience!
