1. Carolina Treetop Challenge

If you are looking for more active and challenging activities, you can go for the courses at Carolina Treetop Challenge. This place offers military-style obstacle courses that are set inside the forest. Participants will be given safety lectures and equipment before they start the courses. The courses are divided into six courses with different levels of difficulty. Carolina Treetop Challenge requires all participants to start the course from the least difficult one at the Green Course.

2. Sunset at Lake Badin

Lake Badin covers 5,350 acres of the area with 115 miles of shoreline that touches four counties—Stanly, Davidson, Montgomery, and Rowan. Lake Badin is a perfect place to enjoy the sunset as it has some picnic areas and public beaches. It is also known for its water-based attractions such as swimming, boating, fishing, and water sports. A fun fact about this lake is it holds the remnants of the World War II B-25 bomber and the bodies of its pilot and co-pilot at the bottom of its water for over 70 years.

3. Camping at Morrow Mountain State Park

Located six miles east of Albemarle, Morrow Mountain is famous for its outdoor activities such as horseback trails, hiking, and camping. It also provides some facilities such as campgrounds, cabins, picnic areas, rental boats, and nature trails. If you want to camp, you are encouraged to make a reservation from their website.
