MINNEAPOLIS, MN - The Minneapolis Institute of Art has been operating for over a hundred years. As one of the most comprehensive art museums, the Minneapolis Institute of Art gives you options for great art pieces.

Most visitors to the museum are captivated by the vast collection of art it has to offer. While wandering around the museum aimlessly, they often stop to admire the paintings and sculptures by European and Native American artists.

Here is some inspiring art at MIA for you to enjoy.

LUCRETIA (Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn, 1666)

This portrait reveals a distressing state of mind for Rembrandt, who was struggling to find his place in life before his death.

    RING GIRL (Suellen Rocca, 1965)

Suellen Rocca's work is filled with dream-like female figures, all dressed in elaborate wedding gowns and light bulbs. Her work was part of the group Hairy Who.

    SHIRT (Unknown artist, C. 1720-1750)

One of MIA's most notable pieces is a shirt made from animal hide, which is likely made by a Native American woman. It features an elaborate design and is decorated with abstract shapes.

JADE MOUNTAIN ILLUSTRATING THE GATHERING OF SCHOLARS AT THE LANTING PAVILION (Unknown artist, 1790)

This work was commissioned by Qianlong during the Qing dynasty back in the 18th century. It shows a group of Chinese scholars partaking in a relaxing mountain retreat. The work was also carved out of glowing jade.

VEILED LADY, 1860 by Raffaelo Monti

The Veiling of Raffaelo Montefiori's sculpture seems to have been made of light and airy materials. Instead of being made of marble, it has been revealed through the artist's skill at using texture and polish.

SANTOS DUMONT: THE FATHER OF AVIATION II (Kehinde Wiley, 2009)

For this work, Kehinde Wiley took a page from the Old Master painting of Alexander Santos-Dumont. Instead of featuring the aviators in traditional clothing, the young men in contemporary clothes are depicted as heroes.
