Rhode Island offers rustic retreats where you can escape to the seaside and enjoy the fresh air. There is also electricity and full cable service. Each of these parks is unique in their way, and some allow pets while other do not. For a park-like Charlestown Breachway, only self-contained camping is permitted. Here are the five state parks that ensure you have the best camping experience.

    Bowdish Lake Camping Area, Glocester

Bowdish has a private beach that will have you enjoy the sunsets and sunrises. You can hayride, fish, or watch the woodcarver at work. Although it offers amenities like televisions and internet access, it would be wise to avoid these for a few days and enjoy the relaxing nature.

Other amenities include water, electricity, dumpsites, honey wagon service, picnic tables, ice, firewood, coin showers, bathhouses, and snack bar at Beach Recreation Hall.

It is at 40 Safari Trail, Chepachet, RI 02814.

    Whispering Pines Campground, Hope Valley

It is at 41 Sawmill Rd, Hope Valley, RI 02832, and has camping grounds for tents and RVs. If you do not fancy using a tent, cabin rentals with AC, running water, and electricity are available. The camping ground has a swimming pool, game room with arcade, volleyball, and mini-golf. You will love it here if you are looking for a place just to chill and relax.

Fishermen’s Memorial State Park and Campground, Narragansett

It is at 1011 Point Judith Rd, Narragansett, RI 02882 which is near four state beaches like Scarborough, Roger Wheeler, and Salty Brine. The campground is open for tents, trailers, and RVs.

There are 182 campsites, some with electric hookups, while others do not have. Each site has a grate, drinking water, flush toilets, a table, a dump station, and a fire ring. It also has a museum, marina, basketball courts, tennis courts, playground, and a church.

    Fort Getty Campground, Jamestown

It is at 1050 Fort Getty Rd, Jamestown, RI 02835, in a 41-acre campground on the waterside with 83seasonal RV sites and 24 tent sites. You will enjoy breathtaking views of the water, boat ramp, dock, and open spaces. The short-term RV campsites are for just two weeks and charge $50 per night.

    Charlestown Breachway, Charlestown

There are 75 campsites for self-contained RVs. Other than camping, you can enjoy swimming. The gates are closed at sunset. There is no alcohol, smoking, glass, pets, or tent camping allowed. You can also enjoy saltwater fishing and swimming and use the nearby boat launch to access Block Island Sound and Ninegret Pond. The beach is accessible while in a wheelchair too.

It is at 812-774 Charlestown Beach Rd, Charlestown, RI 02813.
