Fairbanks School Board to discuss masking policy as Covid cases surge in schools

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -School has been open for two weeks in the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, and the current masking policy still leaves the decision of whether or not students wear masks in the classroom up to the discretion of students and parents. COVID case numbers are rising in schools across the district, and sports teams have cancelled games for the foreseeable future. While the Fairbanks North Star Borough School Board is currently not implementing the health safety protocols recommended by the CDC and Alaska State Department of Health and Social Services, there is a possibility this will change in the near future. they should of all wore masks from the start and kept the 6' recommended distance between each students and all the faculty and staff should be vaccinated and masked!

Candidate Profile: Sally Gant runs for School Board Seat A

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Sally Gant is running for Seat A on the Fairbanks North Star Borough School Board. She said she is running because she loves America and thinks the country is in trouble. “I don’t think white men are evil incarnate, and I think that’s part of the problem, is that we’ve kicked the fathers out of our country, and we need to get them back,” Gant said, adding, “I’m worried when they start messing with the history books. I used to get the Smithsonian Institute magazine and National Geographic, and now it’s all full of politically correct stuff. I think that’s dangerous. We need to get the kids back into history.” Read more

According to a 2013 study conducted by psychologist Jeffrey Arnett and Clark University, 84 percent of parents of young adults missed their children after they left home, but 60 percent were glad to have more time for themselves or with their spouse.
