Warm weather continues throughout the rest of the week. A weak cold front passing through Carolina has little effect on our weather. Tonight’s sky is mostly sunny, with cool and calm temperatures in the 1960s. It may be a little more cloudy tomorrow and a shower along the coast. It will still be warm at the highs of the 80’s. From Friday to weekends, there are many sunny days and the highest temperatures of the 1980s continue, so high pressures control the weather. The high-pressure center is pushed offshore on Sunday, allowing moisture to return to Carolina. This will increase the chances of a shower or thunderstorm starting next week. A cold front could cross the area by mid-next week. Read more

Surfside man, former police officer home recovering after crippling car crash in March – Florence, South Carolina

Surfside Beach, South Carolina (WBTW) — A retired police chief living in Surfside Beach is still recovering from a car accident that almost killed him in March. Ronnie Roberts retired from law enforcement in 2000. At some point in his career, he was the Chief of Police at the University of South Carolina.
