    Runaway emu survives truck crash in Fort Collins area

    A runway emu spotted in Fort Collins survives a crash with a truck. The bird was first spotted along the Poudre River in the McMurry Natural Area Saturday. Later that night, a truck struck the emu at College Avenue and Vine Drive. A passerby found the injured bird and took it to the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, where its owners picked it up Sunday.
