Suspect flees police on foot during pursuit on TH's south side

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Police spent about an hour trying unsuccessfully to apprehend a suspect following a police pursuit on Terre Haute's south side Saturday evening.

Terre Haute Police officers attempted a traffic stop on the suspect in the area of S. 19th and Poplar Streets around 5 p.m. The suspect reportedly refused to stop and fled southbound on S. 19th, eventually striking a chain link fence on Margaret Drive near the overpass, according to scanner traffic.
