West TH man arrested for trying to have sexual meet up with minor

A West Terre Haute man was arrested on a warrant for child solicitation Tuesday afternoon-- after police received a tip from a Facebook group page, launching a two-month long investigation.

Norman W. Atterson, 35, was booked into the Vigo County Jail at 4 p.m. He is charged with: Child solicitation and possession of child pornography.

According to Sgt. Greg Davis, of the West Terre Haute Police Department, a member of “Predator Catchers, Indianapolis,” an online organization which helps catch and expose child predators, recently reached out to the department with information regarding the suspect allegedly attempting to meet up with a victim who was being portrayed as a 14-year-old girl on a fake account. The information sent to Sgt. Davis contained several screenshots involving the suspect's alleged correspondence.
