What is America's greatest donut? Underground Donut Tour is looking for your vote.

(CHICAGO) Have a passion for donuts? So do the folks that launched the Underground Donut Tour in Chicago in 2015. And now they're on the hunt for America's Greatest Donut, as decided by popular vote.

Vote for your favorite, and you'll get a chance to win a free ticket to an Underground Donut Tour in your city.

In celebration of National Donut Day on June 3rd, Underground Donut Tour previously launched a contest and received 300 nominees, which have now been narrowed down to 160 donuts.

Anyone can vote in the contest by going to the website and choosing their favorite. You have until May 17th, when voting is closed.

What's the prize?

Each winning donut shop gets an award and the recognition of having some really great donuts. The lucky donut shop winner with the most overall votes will receive a $500 price and will get the honor of being called, "America's Greatest Donut: Fan Favorite."

Voters get a chance to win as well. Five winners will be given a free Donut Tour in one of the nine cities that the tour operates in.

Take an Underground Donut Tour in Chicago

It all began in downtown Chicago back in 2015 as a "passion project" for Chicago donut fanatic, Jeff Woelker.

It was meant to be a donut tour for friends and family and is now "one of the highest rated food tours in Chicago." According to the website, "this tour is for those who love donuts and love Chicago."

The good news is that although you will be eating a lot of donuts on your tour, you'll get a chance to work up your appetite. The tour guide will take you on about a 2-mile walking route through downtown, parts of River North, and ending on the Magnificient Mile.

Tours include donut samples, the chance to try out new flavors, your choice of beverage, and info on the donut history of Chicago. You can expect to stop at four donut shops, where you get to sample all you want with the option to buy extras to take home if you'd like.
