Ultimately, four kindergarteners had to be hospitalized after a Michigan mother's 6-year-old child brought THC-infused gummies to school. The mother is now charged with second-degree child abuse.

Identified as Melinda Gaticia, the mother prepared her own THC gummies at home and packaged them in Life Savers containers. She put them within reach of her 6-year-old child, who took them to school and gave them to her friends.

Four kindergarten students were hospitalized after ingesting the gummies. One day later, three of the students were sent home from the hospital, and the fourth was discharged two days later.

Gaticia surrendered and was taken into custody. The maximum sentence for second-degree child abuse is ten years in prison.
