Police in Indiana were involved in a pursuit following the theft of an ambulance early Friday morning.

According to Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services, the ambulance was taken from Eskenazi Hospital.

The drivers had gone inside the hospital and returned to find their ambulance had been stolen. After using electronic tracking systems, it was discovered that the ambulance was still in the area when the driver got out after being confronted by the police.

The driver then got into the vehicle and began driving before stopping the vehicle again and escaping.

It has been reported that the driver, 20-year-old James Ford, has since been apprehended.
