There have been charges filed against a Florida mother in connection with the death of her 3-year-old child.

Joanne Zephir, 36, was arrested for premeditated murder after detectives obtained an arrest warrant for her.

During the course of the investigation, investigators were informed that the medical examiner’s office of Orange County had assessed that Joanne's deceased 3-year-old died as a result of a strangulation compression of the neck.

The Medical Examiner's Office has ruled that the untimely death of the child was a "homicide."

Florida Toddler Dies of Neglect-Parents Arrested

In addition, Joanne Zephir was previously charged with attempted murder and aggravated child abuse for crimes she committed against her 8-year-old daughter in the past.

At the time of writing Zephir is incarcerated in the county jail without bond.
