Legacy West Celebrates Black Business Month with Pop-Ups and First-Ever Black Beauty Room and Awards

National Black Business Month is here and it is a time to celebrate and recognize black-owned businesses across the nation. Legacy West, in its ongoing community efforts, is dedicated to building an environment of inclusivity. From hiring minority and women-owned vendors to working with diverse organizations, it has cultivated a community that celebrates all of its patrons.

In continuing with this commitment, Legacy West will be hosting a series of events and offerings to celebrate National Black Business Month, but honoring those black-owned businesses that particularly hail from the DFW Metroplex.

Here are just a few of the exciting happenings that will be taking place at Legacy West throughout the month of August:

• Black Business Month Small Business Pop-Ups - Occurring every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the month of August: In honor of National Black Business Month, Legacy West will spotlight several local Black Owned DFW Businesses spanning the industries from beauty to apparel to accessories to home goods and more! Selected businesses will be featured in retail cabins situated in the breezeway by Starbucks Reserve Bar throughout the month of August. • Urban Trivia - Sunday, August 7 and Sunday, August 28: Celebrate Black Business Month at Legacy Hall with Urban Trivia – a live card game that tests your knowledge of the latest and greatest in black culture. Tickets are available at LegacyFoodHall.com.
• Black Beauty Room and Awards - Saturday, August 27th at The Renaissance Hotel at Plano Legacy West: Sadiaa Black Beauty Guide will host its first-ever Black Beauty Room & Awards. The one-day celebration will feature a fireside chat on Black beauty perceptions and impact, along with a mini fashion show and bazaar featuring Black-owned beauty vendors. In addition, the event will honor regional and national Black luminaries in the beauty industry who exemplify what it means to redefine and nurture Black beauty. The Black Beauty Room & Awards is the culminating event for the first-ever National Black Beauty Week, August 21 - 27. Sadiaa Black Beauty has officially declared the third full week in August to be an annual week dedicated to changing how the world sees, celebrates and experiences Black beauty.
