Now you can have the most Chicago-y pizza ever shipped directly to your home

Lou Malnati's got together with Portillo's to create an Italian Beef Deep Dish Pizza fusion.

(CHICAGO) Not originally from Chicago, I have to admit, the first time I encountered Italian Beef and hot giardiniera on a pizza, I was a little hesitant.

The slice I was given was a small square of a paper-thin, crispy crust topped with slices of thinly seasoned beef and the Chicago-favorite spicy relish known as giardiniera. Surprisingly it all went together perfectly with the tangy tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese.

Now fans of this combo can enjoy it wherever they are in the country. Popular Chicago pizza chain Lou Malnati's has joined forces with Chicagoans' beloved hot dog and Italian Beef joint, Portillo's, to create a deep dish fusion of both worlds.

What's in the pizzas?

The new Italian Beef Deep Dish Pizza starts with Lou Malnati's "flaky, buttery pizza crust, vine ripened plum tomatoes and Wisconsin cheese." It's topped with slow-roasted and thinly sliced Portillo's Italian Beef. You then get your choice of sweet peppers or hot giardiniera.

"The only way we knew to top ourselves was to top our pizzas with the famous flavors of Portillo’s," said Malnati.

Where to buy

You can't find this deep-dish pizza fusion in restaurants. The only place to get it is online at Taste of Chicago. You can order flash-frozen, ready-to-bake pizzas delivered directly to homes across the country.

The pizzas can be ordered in packs of two, four, or six. You can also order them in combination with Portillo's famous chocolate cake and Portillo's Italian Beef kits.
