Many parents understand thoroughly the challenges of a weeknight Halloween. Sure, there are weekend parties and trick or treat opportunities through local businesses, but door-to-door trick or treating still takes place on October 31st.

How do you pack rushing home from work, and getting the kids dressed and out the door in a reasonable amount of time? And most importantly, how do you get some food in their stomachs that isn’t full of sugar?

Two beloved local chain restaurants are offering free meals or menu items to kids on Halloween. Free meals are nice any time of the year, but especially welcome on a time-crunched Halloween that lands on a Monday this year.

During your trick-or-treating, stop by any Dick’s Drive-In and get a free cheeseburger or hamburger for any kid in a costume. This offer is good all day for kids 13 and under. Dick’s locations are in Broadway, Wallingford, Queen Anne, Holman Road, and Lake City in Seattle. Restaurants outside the city are located in Edmonds, Kent, and Crossroads in Bellevue.

At any time of the day on Halloween you can stop by an Ivar’s Seafood Bar or full service location and get up to two free kids meals with the purchase of an adult meal. This is particularly good for single parents. You can dine in the restaurant or get a takeout meal that you order onsite.

There are three full-service restaurants – two in Seattle and one in Mukilteo – but there are Seafood Bars located all over the region. Locations include Bellevue, Bothell, Burien, Edmonds, Everett, Federal Way, Kent, Lakewood, Marysville, Puyallup, and Renton. Check the website for the full list. The offer is not good at Fish Bar locations.
