Where to get a steak in Brewer & Bangor, Maine

    2022-11-18

It’s a shame, but some places can’t cook a great steak. I think that’s why they created steakhouses to do it so often; it’s an art! Still, there are only a few excellent steakhouses.

It’s a shame, but some places can’t cook a great steak. I think that’s why they created steakhouses to perfect the process by doing it repeatedly; it’s an art! Still, there are only a few excellent steakhouses.

There’s plenty of seafood in Maine, but sometimes the best meal is a good old steak. Here are a few places to get a great steak in Brewer and Bangor, Maine.

These are not in any particular order; a great steak is great. There is no superlative greater than great.

Texas Roadhouse steak medium-rare.By the author.

    Texas Roadhouse

Texas Roadhouse serves an assortment of excellent steaks on any steak connoisseur’s list, from nine-ounce filet medallions to twenty-three-ounce T-bones. Their steaks come with a choice of two sides.

This Texas-style eatery has a crispy and cheesy selection of fries and appetizers, including fried pickles, cheese fries, Rattlesnake Bites (deep-fried jalapenos & jack cheese), and a Texas-sized fried onion called a “Cactus Blossom,” a blatant rip-off of the Outback’s Bloomin’ Onion, but it’s excellent. Our family always gets the Cactus Blossom and two fried pickles to share.

If you love sour pickles and you've never tried deep-fried pickles, you don't know what you're missing.

By the way, get their “loaded fries or baked potato” and enjoy lots of cheesy goodness.

Not only does this location serve great food, but they also are known for their courteous staff. Texas Roadhouse is a prime example of a high-quality steakhouse with friendly service.

The Roadhouse is located at 504 Stillwater Ave. in Bangor, ME. It is open on Sundays from 12 pm to 9 pm, Monday through Thursday from 3 pm to 9 pm, Friday from 3 pm to 10 pm, and Saturday from 12 pm to 10 pm. Phone (207) 262-6122.

Mason's Brewing Liquid Rapture DIPA Review

    Mason’s Brewing Company

Mason’s Brewing has a local family’s farm-grown ribeye steak in its Philly Sandwich, complemented by local mushrooms, roasted red pepper, beer cheese, and mayo on a ciabatta bun. Some might not consider a cheesesteak sandwich a meal, but at Mason’s, it is.

It’s also a great place to get some pub snacks to go with their selection of craft beers. However, Masons Brewing Company serves more than just pretzels and fries.

One unique feature of this Brewery is that they offer a selection of hearty, savory pies. These have fun names and flavors, such as “Truffle Pig,” which has a mouth-watering combination of white sauce, candied bacon, wild mushroom, spinach, and black truffle oil.

“The Dad Joke” pie features four kinds of cheese - fresh mozzarella, provolone, smoked gouda, and parmesan - and herbs.

Mason's is a fun and relaxing place for an excellent steak and beer while overlooking the Penobscot River.

Mason’s Brewing Company is located at 15 Hardy Street in Brewer, ME. This craft brewery is open on Sundays from 10:30 am to 9 pm, Monday through Thursday from 11 am to 9 pm, Fridays from 11 am to 10 pm, and Saturdays from 10:30 am to 10 pm. Call (207) 989-6300.

    Longhorn Steakhouse

This tasty steakhouse offers a variety of “legendary steaks.” Each steak comes with a hand-chopped salad and a choice of sides. Diners can go savory with mushrooms stuffed with garlic and herbs, white cheddar cheese, and a parmesan crust.

Those looking for a spicy kick can also create a custom surf and turf meal with a kick by choosing a side of shrimp tossed with spicy cherry peppers and garlic butter. Longhorn Steakhouse is the place for a great steak, with a friendly and helpful service staff.

    11 Central

It’s right downtown. There aren’t many restaurants downtown anymore, but 11 Central is excellent. It’s an unforgettable eating experience, and the steak is otherworldly! They’ll cook it just as you like it, but they have a few suggestions, such as choice Angus beef topped with Portobello mushrooms and zesty pickled onions or seasoned and dried.

My favorite is surf and turf. I love mac and cheese, but when you toss in some lobster and plate it with a medium-rare fillet mignon, OMG, it’s so creamy and dreamy; I am in heaven!

    They also serve gluten-free.

They’re located at 11 Central (kind of figures) Street in Bangor, Maine, and they’re open from 4 pm to 9:30 pm Wednesday to Saturday and Monday by special request for functions. Call (207) 922-5115.
