Black Woman Opens New Chick-Fil-A in Philadelphia

Sereena Quick has opened up a new Chick-Fil-A restaurant on 4040 City Ave. in Philadelphia.

Owned and operated by Sereena Quick, this new restaurant will make it the fast-food franchise's 84th location in Philadelphia.

Quick said in a Chick-Fil-A press statement, “I love the city of Philadelphia. I am living proof of its rich history, vibrant diversity, and endless possibilities,” she said. “I am passionate about creating long-term positive change in my community and look forward to this new chapter in the place where I was born and raised.”

After an accomplished law enforcement career, Quick decided it was time to pursue other dreams. Sereena shadowed Jon Stanley, Operator of Chick-fil-A Liberty Place and Cienega Triangle in Los Angeles, and took in all the aspects of the business in her pursuit of owning her own restaurant.

According to Chick-Fil-A, “Stanley was a tremendous force, encouraging Sereena to dream big and showing her that business ownership was possible and attainable. He was her confidante and advisor, and a constant source of inspiration.” “Another Black businessman, he soon became one of my supporters, encouraging my dream of one day operating my own restaurant," Sereena said.

After 13 years in law enforcement, Sereena decided it was time for her to open up her very own Chick-Fil-A.

Chick-Fil-A has made a generous donation of $25,000 to the non-profit organization Feeding America in honor of Quick’s grand opening.

“Growing up in a single-parent home in an underserved community, there were so many obstacles and limited resources,” Quick stated.

The company will also be providing free meals for a year to 100 local heroes that are making an impact in Philly.
