DeSantis is "Trump incarnate", says Biden

The White House is unsure whether Biden would face Trump or his "incarnate" in 2024.

Joe Biden recently called DeSantis "Donald Trump incarnate."

The US president's jab at a Florida Democratic fundraiser provided a sneak peek at how an incumbent would respond in the event of a future confrontation with the insurgent Florida governor.

DeSantis has gained political clout. And even Democrats are now seeing it.

According to the latest polls, DeSantis will be the frontrunner for the GOP nomination if Trump decides not to run for president again.

Biden said that, unlike Charlie Crist, the challenger of DeSantis’ re-election bid, the Republican candidate has no ability to restore decency to public life and unite the country.

“This guy is not -- he doesn’t fit any of the categories I talked about,” Biden said Tuesday evening of DeSantis. “The way he deals, the way he denies.”

The president's comments on Tuesday were a stark contrast to his previous visit to the state, during which he and the governor exchanged pleasantries while comforting hurricane Ian victims.

“How can you say that you in fact care about democracy when you deny the existence of a win?” Biden said, condemning Republicans over the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the US Capitol and for questioning the results of the 2020 election.

In the next week’s election, Biden told the public that “everything is at stake.”

Earlier, Biden said he intends to run for re-election. If he actually follows through with his statement, the current president will be 82 years of age. And he'll take the spot as the oldest president in the United States twice if he wins.
