DeSantis Shocks Nation with Demand for Court Investigation into Vaccines

    2022-12-16

Florida governor is at it again.

Ron DeSantis declared on Tuesday that he would ask the state’s highest court to call a grand jury to look into “any and all wrongdoing” regarding the Covid-19 vaccinations. He’s adamant about pursuing the idea of vaccines being unsafe.

The Republican governor, who is frequently mentioned as a potential 2024 presidential candidate, did not specify what wrongdoing the panel would look into. Still, he hinted that it might be partly intended to unearth information from pharmaceutical companies about the vaccines and potential side effects.

“We’ll be able to get the data whether they want to give it or not,” DeSantis said. “In Florida, it is illegal to mislead and misrepresent, especially when you are talking about the efficacy of a drug.”

Government bodies assessed evidence on the safety and efficacy of the shots before approving their use, and immunization research funded by pharmaceutical companies that created Covid vaccines.

Grand juries at the state level, typically made up of 18 members, have the power to look into criminal conduct, bring charges, and make recommendations. Recent topics covered by these panels include immigration and school safety.

DeSantis noted that Florida “got $3.2bn through legal action against those responsible for the opioid crisis. So, it’s not like this is something that’s unprecedented.”

The majority of that money was obtained through lawsuits and agreements with drug manufacturers, sellers, and distributors.

DeSantis stated that he anticipated receiving clearance from the supreme court to appoint the statewide grand jury, most likely in the Tampa Bay region.

A number of the doctors and scientists who took part in the Tuesday roundtable will be a part of the public health integrity committee, which DeSantis also said he was establishing. Prominent opponents of lockdowns, federal vaccine requirements, and childhood vaccinations are represented in the group.

Gov. DeSantis is clearly leaning in one direction, and that’s a massive assumption that vaccines are somehow evil and against God.

What do you think about DeSantis’s latest actions?
