    How to make Cookie Butter

Cookie Butter has been around for quite a while, but there are still many that do not know how wonderful it is. Cookie Butter is a warm, sweet comfort food on overload! It can be used in cupcakes and icing for a taste like no other. Cookie Butter is easy to make and it's a simple and great way to use leftover cookies. For a fun and unique gift idea put in a jar with a good sealing lid. Add a ribbon and tag for decoration.

Any flavor of cookie will work; if it is a cookie such as an Oreo or Nutter Butter you may want to take the filling out first. Personally, I like to make mine with the Oreo or Nutter Butter filling, it makes the cookie butter richer but may not be as smooth and creamy as Sugar Cookie butter with no filling.

To make Cookie Butter you will need a food processor or blender. Start with the cookies and pulse the blender until the cookies turn to fine crumbs. You will need about 2 cups of cookie crumbs.

Once get the cookie crumbs, you can add the butter mixture. Melt ½ cup melted butter in a medium size microwave-safe bowl, add ½ cup sweetened condensed milk, and ¼ cup evaporated milk stir until smooth. Pour the butter mixture over the cookie crumbs and you've got Cookie Butter! Refrigerate until cool. If the mix seems dry add a little milk or water and stir until smooth.

Refrigerate until ready to use, take out a few minutes to bring to room temperature, and stir. Enjoy with graham crackers, cookies, or toasted pita bread, great with apple slices or as a topping for sliced peaches or blueberries.

    Ingredients:

    2 cups of cookie crumbs

    ½ cup melted butter

    ½ cup sweetened condensed milk

    ¼ cup evaporated milk

Mix the butter, and milk together until smooth, and pour over the cookie crumbs a little at a time until smooth. Enjoy!
