    Teen girl free on $750,000 bond after allegedly stabbing, killing 17-year-old girl

    According to reports, an 18 year old woman has been charged with murder in connection with the suspected slaying of a 17-year-old girl outside of a convenience shop.

    Bryanna Barozzini, of Columbus, Ohio is accused of fatally stabbing Halia Culbertson on Sunday.

    Barozzini's defense lawyer, Robert Krapenc, asserted that the stabbing was an act of self-defense at her court appearance on Tuesday but chose not to provide any details.

    According to court records in Franklin County, Barozzini is currently free on a $750,000 bail.

    Information about the plea was not immediately available.

    Witnesses reported to police an altercation between Barozzini and Culbertson is said to have taken place inside a convenience shop and carried over into the parking lot.

    The East Columbus strip mall is home to a thrift store, a woman's boutique, a nail salon, a sports store and a Dollar General.

    Barozzini allegedly stabbed Culbertson before fleeing the scene.

    Culbertson was taken to a hospital, but died soon after arrival.

    According to court documents, Barozzini allegedly confessed to swinging a knife at the victim before being apprehended at her Westerville, Ohio, home.

    Barozzini's lawyer said she has cooperated with police and has no criminal history.

    Barozzini is also prohibited from possessing weapons and committing or threatening to commit any acts of violence.

    Culbertson was referred to as "the most lovely and outgoing person" in a GoFundMe campaign established to assist with funeral expenses.

    The fundraiser's description states, "She loved her family and friends dearly and she cared for everybody around her."

    Barozzini is due back in court April 6.
