A young and hungry moose visits a hospital in Alaska to eat some plants

    2023-04-09

How do you get a moose out of a medical facility? Very carefully.

A few days ago, AP News reported that a young and hungry moose wandered into a Providence Alaska medical facility in Anchorage.

As seen on social media, the young moose wandered over to a potted plant in the lobby and began munching as patients and staff hid behind a row of wheelchairs.

Security officers and some members of the public helped usher the moose out the exit doors. This moose was calm and just wanted to munch on plants. But if the moose had been angry or aggressive, it might have been a different story.

Randy Hughes, director of security with Providence told Alaska's News Source if the animal had appeared aggressive, they would have waited for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to respond.

After about 15 minutes, the moose wandered out the doors and settled down for a nap in the sunshine by the side of the building.

This isn't the only time a moose in Alaska ended up somewhere it shouldn't be.

Earlier this month, an Alaskan woman came home to find a moose in her living room. Once again, the moose was lured into the building by fresh greenery. The moose was happily munching her plants with her pet dog sitting calmly next to it.
