Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is actively gearing up for the 2024 elections.

DeSantis has been secretly contacting many possible supporters in recent months.

He is anticipated to launch his presidential campaign after the Florida state's legislative session concludes in May.

DeSantis has a simple message. He is the only Republican who can upset President Joe Biden in a general election.

DeSantis has been much more direct in conversations with other successful Republicans, casting himself as the clear choice for anyone fed up with former President Donald Trump.

The fact Trump lost to Biden only strengthens DeSantis's case. Florida governor is a clear winner because he's been winning, unlike Donald Trump, who's been on a losing streak since 2020.

The secret campaign is underway

Trump's support and friends claim that DeSantis has been reaching out to New York real estate moguls with have real estate properties in Florida.

To that purpose, DeSantis and Trump both went to the wedding of real estate investor Steve Witkoff's son in Palm Beach last year.

The person close to the case (who is given anonymity to disclose specifics of private conversations) claims that DeSantis emphasizes his military experience and track record of putting "points on the scoreboard."

DeSantis' outreach offers a glimpse into his and his team's early calculations as they prepare for the presidential run. The governor has built a reputation for criticizing corporate America while relying on prominent finance figures for financial backing.

DeSantis is coming after corporations that support his opponents and praises corporations that give him money. Other political figures are probably doing the same.

His team seems to view New York donors as a prime challenge at this stage. This is not only because they have tremendous financial resources but because many moguls support Trump out of convenience rather than shared beliefs.

DeSantis has recently struggled with declining poll scores and news coverage dominated by Trump and the disappointment of some Republicans because of his earlier statements casting skepticism on assisting the Ukraine war.
