    The Manatee Center

If you make your way to the Manatee Center, you'll be able to observe the beautiful creatures as they enjoy the bay's warm water. As you observe, you can't help but watch with awe as you learn about the endangered species.

You can enter the educational building, where you'll learn more about the manatee's lives and habits, or hit the trails along the bay, where you and your family can enjoy a peaceful picnic. The 2-hour excursion is genuinely worth your time.

    Regional Park at Lettuce Lake

There are many free things to do while you're in town. The Regional Park at Lettuce Lake is one of them. The lake is located 30 minutes away from downtown at Hillsborough River. With 240 acres of natural beauty, you'll enjoy a wonderful picnic area, a paved bicycle path with a fitness course, and a children's playground.

If you're a nature lover or bird watcher, this is the perfect haven. You can stroll along the boardwalk and view all of the wildlife. Make your way to the interpretive center. You'll enjoy the many vegetation, bird, and animal exhibits available. If you are looking for a weekend adventure or day tour, the park offers a guided walk-through of nature free of charge on both weekend days, starting at around 8:30 am.
