Shocking New Bill Targets China: Florida's Bold Move to Protect US

    2023-04-15

The legislation aiming to protect the United States from Chibna is close to becoming law in the Sunshine State

A House panel adopted similar legislation the day after the Senate passed a measure restricting China and other adversaries from acquiring land close to military bases.

The Appropriations Committee passed HB 1355 from Democratic Rep. Katherine Waldron and Republican Reps. David Borrero. The legislation is similar to SB 264, which the Senate unanimously approved on Tuesday.

The bill, according to Borrero, is a mechanism to "protect United States interests, assets, and land," stressing that China and Russia have been attempting to harm American interests both abroad and domestically.

Under the bill, foreign firms tied to countries of concern, namely China, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Syria, and North Korea, are blocked from conducting business with the state of Florida.

By the end of the year, parties conducting business with the state would have to certify that they are not under the influence of hostile foreign regimes, and governmental organizations would be banned from requesting bids or negotiations from these compromised nations. After July 1, 2025, those companies could not renew their contracts.

The bill also prohibits foreign countries of concern and their agents from owning land or other property within 20 miles of a military installation. After July 1, 2023, foreign principals can still own this land but cannot purchase it anymore, but they are required to register with the state. Additionally, they would have to relinquish ownership of that property within two years.

The bill also stipulates that specific personal medical data must be stored offsite in the continental United States, a U.S. territory, or Canada.

The legislation strengthens the penalties for extortion by a foreign agent who acts to benefit a country of concern, making it a first-degree felony with a possible 30-year prison term as punishment.

Food security is national security. Our self proclaimed enemies do not need to be able to buy land, including farmland, in the U.S.A. I salute you Florida! 🫡🇺🇸
