The first-ever millennial Republican candidate for President of the United States in history predicted that Donald Trump would dodge debating him if it came down to it. Vivek Ramaswamy is polling at about 3%, which puts him in the top six candidates for the Republican nomination. Vivek has founded multiple businesses, and Forbes estimates his net worth at 630 million dollars.

Vivek appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored and said the pundits are making a mistake in declaring the Republican nomination for Donald Trump based on polls. Arguing that it’s way too early to make such a prediction and that in 2015, Trump was not polling well at this point in the election cycle. Trump is polling at 58% among Republican voters right now, so it is an overwhelming lead at this point.

“If Ron DeSantis doesn’t enter the race, Donald Trump will choose not to be on the debate stage.”

In the interview, Vivek made a challenging prediction about Trump, basically saying Trump would be afraid to debate him. True or not, it’s a bold statement, but it shows Vivek’s confidence in his debating style. When you hear him speak, you can tell he is highly intelligent and well-studied in American politics and history. He has a J.D. from Yale University and is the author of two books. He does not employ speech writers, yet he is polished in his talking points and excels at delivering his ideas in a relatable way.

Plus, Vivek has the advantage of being the political outsider this go around. Donald Trump used that to his advantage in 2015, but as a former president, he won’t have that advantage. Vivek called the Republican debates “crucial for sharpening the iron of the Republican Party” and likely hopes to have a chance to share his ideas in a forum where he excels.

He recently gained some attention for a heated debate on CNN with the recently fired Don Lemon about the Civil War and the role rights; specifically the 2nd amendment, played in Black Americans’ securing freedoms. A New York Times article went as far as to allege that his exchange with Vivek was one of many reasons CNN parted ways with their 17-year anchor.

    Growing Momentum

At thirty-seven, Vivek’s youth and platform of redefining what it means to be American. He argues Americans hunger for a purpose and an answer to the question “What it means to be an American.” Vivek is bringing a positive message, which is refreshing in a polarized time dominated by negativity.

Vivek’s YouTube channel has 33K subscribers and is growing daily. He’s running a podcast and putting out his ideas for specific solutions to problems America faces, something not typical for candidates in this day and age. Although he is nowhere near the favorite Donald Trump in the polls for the Republican nomination, it will be interesting to see if he can continue to rise as the election season continues.

Arguably, Vivek would perform better than Trump in a general election. Piers Morgan said as much, based on how the forty-four-year-old Ron DeSantis is polling against President Biden. After all, both Trump and Biden are over two times Vivek’s age.

What do you think of Vivek Ramaswamy? Does he have a chance against Trump?
