Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has stepped on Donald Trump's territory.

During a visit to one of former President Donald Trump's political strongholds in Wisconsin, Ron DeSantis bragged about his achievements and left hints about his potential presidential run.

The Governor is one of the most anticipated candidates in the 2024 elections. He's yet to announce his bid, but many believe it will happen soon. Ron DeSantis is weighing his options while building a golden parachute in case the elections don't go his way.

    The presidential hype

DeSantis, who easily retained his position as Governor of Florida in November, is generally anticipated to launch a presidential bid this month. Although he didn't mention his future presidential plans, he teased the crowd in closing remarks.

"We are proud of all that we've accomplished in Florida," DeSantis said. "But I can tell you this: I have only begun to fight."

In 2020, Trump received 58 percent of the vote in the county in central Wisconsin. It is also a part of the vast 7th Congressional District in northern Wisconsin, which is mainly rural and contains some of the Republican-heavy districts of the state.

DeSantis recently appeared in Iowa and New Hampshire, hosting the first Republican Party presidential nomination contests, and the swing state of Wisconsin.

He's started running political television advertisements in early primary states, and a super PAC supporting him has employed workers in both states and South Carolina. He promised reporters in Florida this week that an announcement would be made shortly.

DeSantis largely kept to his stump pitch at the event in central Wisconsin, praising conservative policy achievements in Florida against the "woke mind virus" and presenting it as a template for other states to follow.

DeSantis is in Wisconsin for the second time in less than eight months. He organized supporters for Republican gubernatorial candidate Tim Michels in Green Bay in September. DeSantis omitted abortion from his laundry list of GOP policies for the second time in Wisconsin.
