Pennsylvania Man Wins Maryland Lottery Twice in Two Months

    2023-05-21

This lucky man has taken home over $1 million from the Maryland Lottery over the past decade

Most people will never be lucky enough to win the lottery. The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are one in 302.5 million, according to the lottery game, while Powerball’s odds are one in 292.2 million for the top prize.

A Pennsylvania man was fortunate enough to win the lottery twice in a matter of a few months. He was working construction down in Maryland and decided to purchase $20 scratch-off tickets while he was there.

“I buy a ticket or two at least once a week, either at home or down here,” the winner said in the news release. “All my Lottery luck seems to be in Maryland, however.”

Since he had just won $50,000 on a scratch-off ticket a few months ago, he was extremely surprised to find himself in the winner's seat once again. Of the three scratch-off tickets he purchased at a Highs store in Upperco, Maryland, the third one he scanned was the golden ticket.

“I was about to drop the third – the $50,000 Cash ticket – into the can when I saw the message on the scanner,” he said in the new release. “I thought maybe I’d won $5,000. Having won the game’s top prize just last month, there wasn’t the tiniest sliver of a thought that it’d be $50,000.

The man said he was going to put his winnings into his savings account.

Earlier this year, a Maryland man won a $30,000 prize and another $50,000 in two months. In March, another man from Maryland won $50,000, marking his second win after $100,000 won in 2015.
