At around 11:15 p.m. Friday, NSP got word that Seward County deputies were pursuing a vehicle that had fled after a traffic stop. The initial chase happened eastbound on I-80 heading toward Lancaster County. Troopers caught up to the chase and took over for deputies as the car sped through Lincoln. The vehicle, a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, traveled at some points in excess of 120 miles an hour. At Mile Marker 412, the driver U-turned in the median and went westbound on I-80, then exited at the Waverly interchange and started westbound toward Lincoln on Highway 6. NSP AirWing took up the pursuit from the air as ground units stopped the chase. The vehicle turned southbound on 84th Street, went into a parking lot and drove into a field where it stopped. The driver exited the vehicle and started running; NSP pilots pinpointed her location. After searching for 15 minutes, an NSP K9 tracked down the driver hiding on the bank of Stevens Creek. She was taken into custody without incident. Troopers also called for Lincoln Fire and Rescue after the vehicle in question caused a fire in the field's tall grasses. The driver, 31-year-old Georgina De La Cadena of Vancouver, Washington, was arrested for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving and obstructing a peace officer. Additional charges are pending in Seward County. She was lodged in the Seward County Jail.</div></body>
