A new sandwich shop is coming to Canal Winchester, Ohio

A popular sandwich shop chain is opening a new location in the city of Canal Winchester.

Are you a fan of Jersey Mike's Subs? If the answer is yes, you might want to know that the popular chain is opening a new location in Canal Winchester.

As one would guess from the name of the chain, Jersey Mike's got its start in New Jersey. Founder-CEO Peter Cancro started working at a local sandwich shop called Mike's Submarines at the age of 14. At the age of 17, Cancro bought the shop with help from a banker who was also his high school football coach. Since then, Cancro has expanded that single sandwich shop to a nationwide chain with over 1,000 locations in all 50 states.

Jersey Mike's menu includes both cold and hot sandwiches. Cold subs include Jersey Shore's favorite (which has provolone, ham, and cappacuolo), the super sub (which has provolone, ham, prosciuttini, and cappacuolo), tuna fish, the club sub (which has turkey, ham, provolone, Applewood smoked bacon, and mayo), the original Italian (which has provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami, and pepperoni), and the stickball special, which has provolone, ham, and salami.

If you're looking for a vegetarian option, the chain offers the veggie sub, which has provolone, Swiss, and green bell peppers; you can also add sliced onions, shredded lettuce, and tomatoes to it.

The sandwich shop also has hot subs including Mike's chicken Philly (in addition to chicken, this sub has grilled onions, peppers, and white American cheese), chipotle chicken cheese steak (which comes with grilled onions, peppers, white American cheese, and chipotle mayo), and portabella cheesesteak (which has steak, portabella mushrooms, peppers, onions, and white American cheese).

If you're in need of a vegetarian option, the chain offers a grilled portabella mushroom and swiss sub, which comes with portabella mushrooms, green bell peppers, onions, and Swiss cheese.

Bread options for subs include white bread, wheat bread, and rosemary parmesan bread. For those with dietary restrictions, the chain also offers gluten-free bread.

For dessert, the chain offers freshly baked cookies and chocolate chip brownies.

No opening date for the new location has been announced yet, but according to the website, the location is "scheduled to open soon."
