My next stop took me across the street from my apartment. I've eaten at Pearl's Korean BBQ restaurant, so I know what to expect. For their regular plate, they serve four vegetables: two scoops of rice, sliced fried eggplant, fried gyoza, and your choice of a meat item or a combination of meats.

The plates are a little higher priced than other eateries, but they serve meals for two. I usually half the order and save the next for my next meal. The restaurant is in the Don Quixote store complex to the right of their entrance. The meat items I usually choose are the Kalbi and Chicken combo. Their vegetable choices are some of the tastiest vegetables I've ever tasted. Here is a list of vegetables I usually order.

    • Choy Sum
    • Bean Sprouts
    • Noodles
    • Shoyu Potatoes
    • Corn
    • Potatoe Salad
    • Kimchee

There are several others, but those mentioned above are the choices I usually order. Many Korean BBQ restaurants have different owners, so I don't know if the owners of my location have other restaurants in town.

The ordering and paying process is simple. You order at the counter, pay the cashier, and choose vegetables. According to their website, Pearl's Korean BBQ has six locations.

    • Pearlridge
    • Kahala
    • Ewa Beach
    • Waipahu
    • Kapolei
    • Down Quixote Town

The cashier calls your number within a few minutes, and you have your order. I can't remember if I ever had a bad experience at any of the Korean BBQ restaurants. I've always left filled and satisfied. However, the price is slightly higher than what you usually see at other eateries serving Island comfort foods. Every once in a while, I like to spend a little more to eat at a Korean BBQ Restaurant.

    Final Thoughts

If you're ever at the Don Quixote store on Kaheka Street, close to Ala Moana Shopping Center, check out Pearl's Korean BBQ. You will walk away with two meals for the day instead of one; they give a lot of food for the regular plate. Visit their restaurant today.
