Joe Biden Surprises America With Huge Announcement

    2023-06-12

President Joe Biden recently announced historic levels of infrastructure investments across the United States...

"To have the best economy in the world, we need the best infrastructure in the world," said President Biden. "We invested more money in our roads, bridges, high-speed internet, clean water, and more, making the largest investment in infrastructure since Dwight Eisenhower's interstate highway system."

"We've attracted almost half a trillion dollars in private investments all across the country," he continued, "and have helped create over 13.4 million jobs—including 800,000 manufacturing jobs."

President Biden Wants To Improve Everyone's Quality Of Life Around The United States.

According to a White House statement, President Biden's Investing in America initiative is mobilizing historic levels of investment in the United States. After decades of offshoring, Biden wants to bring manufacturing back to America and generate new, well-paying jobs that don't require a college degree.

Since President Biden took office, approximately 18 million households have gained access to low-cost, high-speed internet through the Affordable Connectivity Program. $8.8 billion has also been allocated for home energy rebates to assist hardworking families in lowering their energy costs.

According to the White House, President Biden's $2,000 yearly cap on out-of-pocket prescription drug costs, a $35 monthly cap per insulin prescription, and free vaccines will help millions of seniors to save money.

Infrastructure Is A Major Priority For President Biden.

Transportation investments totaling $156 billion have been announced for roads, bridges, public transportation, ports, and airports. $24.1 billion has also been announced to provide clean water and improve water infrastructure across the United States. This includes $5.7 billion for the replacement of lead pipes and service lines.

In Texas, The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is receiving $150 million through the Federal Transit Administration to develop a Bus Rapid Transit corridor from Westchase Park-and-Ride to the Tidwell Transit Center. The Federal Aviation Administration has also awarded the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport $70 million to fund the construction of a Zero Carbon Electric Central Utility Plant.

In California, President Biden wants to invest in the future. "The Golden Gate Bridge Transportation District was awarded $400 million to fortify the Golden Gate Bridge," per The White House. "The Diablo Canyon Power Plant, which was scheduled to be decommissioned by 2025, was awarded $1.1 billion to continue its safe and reliable operations. This award will save 1,500 clean energy jobs and sustain Diablo Canyon, which currently produces 15% of California's energy."

Meanwhile, numerous states along the east coast are receiving big investments to upgrade infrastructure...

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority has been awarded $116 million to replace older diesel buses with new electric buses and to launch a workforce development program to support training and safety efforts.

The Hudson Tunnel Project in New York was awarded $292 million to support concrete casing intended to preserve future right-of-way for the new Hudson River passenger rail tunnel.

In Florida, the Orlando International Airport received $119 million for terminal expansion projects that will increase capacity and accessibility.
